How to use cashback with TopCashback, and stack it with gift cards and card points

What you need

• A TopCashback account. Join through our link and you also get a $20 bonus once you've earned $10 in cashback at eligible brands within 180 days. Cashback from VPN brands and from other bonuses doesn't count towards the $10. Full offer and terms →
• A credit card that earns points. It earns as normal on everything below. For gift cards it needs to be a Visa or Mastercard, as American Express isn't accepted there. Compare credit cards →
• Your payout details. Add your bank account or PayPal when you join. TopCashback blocks payouts for 72 hours after you change them, so doing it early saves a wait later.

How the pieces fit together

Cashback

TopCashback lists over 1,500 shops. When you click through to a shop from TopCashback and buy, the shop pays TopCashback, and TopCashback passes the cashback on to you. Within 7 days the purchase shows in your account as pending. It becomes payable once the shop confirms the order and pays, which takes 1 to 3 months on average, and a withdrawal usually reaches you within a couple of working days.

Card points

The shop still charges your card the full price, so your card earns its usual points on the purchase. Going through a cashback site doesn't change that, but every card has its own rules about which purchases earn points, so it's worth checking yours.

Gift cards

TopCashback also sells digital gift cards for around 270 brands and pays cashback when you buy them. The gift card usually arrives by email within minutes, and the cashback often shows within an hour, ready to withdraw straight away. These were the members' rates on 2 November 2026:

Orders run from $15 to $1,000. The gift cards are for personal use, can't be refunded and expire on each brand's own terms.

How to do it

Example 1: a $200 online order

Find the shop on TopCashback and click "Get Cashback". The shop's website opens in a new tab, and you check out there as normal, paying with your points card. If the shop pays 5% cashback and your card earns 1 point per dollar, the order earns you:

The $10 shows as pending within 7 days and is yours to withdraw once the shop has paid.

Example 2: a $250 Coles gift card for the weekly shop

Buy a $250 Coles gift card from TopCashback's gift card shop, paying with your Visa or Mastercard. At 1.5% that's $3.75 in cashback, which often shows within the hour, plus whatever your card earns on $250. The charge shows on your statement as "Tillo*TopCashback", so check your card's terms to see whether it earns points. Then use the gift card at Coles in store.

The cashback is earned when you buy the gift card, not when you spend it. Some shops pay no cashback on orders paid with gift cards, so don't expect to be paid twice by using one at a shop you've clicked through to.

Now and then TopCashback adds a bonus to gift card orders. One posted on 26 October 2026 paid an extra $5 on a single gift card order of $100 or more, for members who activated it first.

If your cashback doesn't show up

Most missing cashback comes down to a handful of things. If you use a discount code, it has to be one TopCashback publishes for that shop. A code from anywhere else, even one another member has posted, can get the cashback declined. You can't claim cashback from two sites on the same purchase, and some anti-virus and anti-spyware tools stop a purchase from tracking at all.

Each shop also sets its own cashback terms, shown on its TopCashback page, so read them before you buy. Gourmet Basket, for example, pays nothing on orders paid with gift cards, vouchers or store credit, on orders made in its app, or on any order where part is returned or cancelled.

If a purchase still hasn't appeared after 7 days, lodge a Missing Cashback Claim with your order number. Claims usually take 2 to 3 months to resolve.
